Mississippi native and rapper Rick Da Ruler checks in to discuss his hometown of Mississippi, the music scene where he is from, and upcoming projects. Hailing from a small town, Rick was having a hard time making a name for himself in such a small area, so he began traveling and networking in Atlanta. He fell in love with Hip-Hop at a young age witnessing his mother often listening to popular music at the time from the genre.
His music is diverse, and he prides himself on switching his style on each song he works on. Also, a fan of Juvenile and his business sense, Rick hopes to 1 day be a prominent man of business and investing. The music game is a busy, never stopping ball of drops, shows, flossing on social media and more. The artist who stays the most consistent and in their own lane will always get a slice of the pie.
There are always challenges being independent as well. When you are your own manager, publicists, promo team, and the star it can be sort of frustrating to stay on top of everything. Big Rula has mentioned his overall challenge is funding everything on his own, so he must work extra hard to move around and think outside the box.
